Well here we are at 9:25pm eastern time and Elizabeth ,our second youngest daughter dose'nt want to go to bed."Everyone else is in bed little girl, you should be too" she just whines away in her crib.Yet all day she wanted to go and take a nice long nap and I did'nt let her because I know exactly how she is...she'll want to stay up later. Now my husband has her in the bed with us and now she's falling to sleep. Will she grow dependent on falling asleep in the bed with us now because she has been doing this alot lately too.I guess it's because the baby is in the bed most of the time with us because I'm nursing her, still.I'm glad that we've got the kids on a sleep schedule that works for them .I know they don't like it but they've got to just deal with it.The children are in bed by 7pm.We have done it this way simply because they would always say that they were always tired. So we changed the time instead of 8 it's 7.School starts early in regards to the bus getting here , so we have to wake them up by 6 am.How do you get children to stay asleep on the weekend and or long holidays like Thanksgiving -Thursday and Friday. That's what I'd like to know.Because every weekend it's exactly the same, they wake up soooo early, then when Monday Morning comes that's when they want to sleep in?! why?

First WOW 6 kids, I've heard after you have 3 it doesn't mater from then on. I only have one and she’s only 4months. I'm a stay home mom; I took 12 weeks maternity leave and then went back to work. I didn't want to go back but we needed to refinance the house and we wouldn't be able to qualify for it without me working. So when I was back at work I was fine. I enjoyed having my mom watch Madison and everyone treated me even nicer when I came back to work. I think they realized how much I really did. Well now that I'm home I've been mentally up and down. I fell very stressed about money. I feel we should cut back on spending and my husband thinks well be fine. Of course I do the bills and I like having extra money in the checking account so I don't have to truly budget, as in I don’t have to juggle what to pay and what we would have to pay next pay check. I know we have the house payment and all the normal expenses and the only way we are making it is because my husband does a business on top of his 40 hour work week. But it's not a constant extra income coming in. It could be more then enough one month then nothing the next and triple the next. I'm so over whelmed that I don't even want to look at the bills, and we have money in the bank. I fell we really can't afford me being home or I should say we might be able to but we need to cut back on expenses and my husband thinks that everything is a necessity. I would only be bringing home about $10,000 a year after paying a babysitter and that is if we could have found one. I just couldn’t put her in a daycare setting. My mom agreed to watch her for only a short time until we refinanced the house.

Wow I guess I needed to get that out!

Now back to you - I would be afraid she might grow dependent on falling asleep in your bed. I’ve heard horrible stories about it and I don’t want to go through what they went through. The only thing I know from seeing my nesses and nephews is that when you give them a consequence you have to fallow through with it.

I think I’ll go tackle those bills.

Iwish my mother would watch our kids,I'm an at home mom too and we almost have the same similarities. We want to refinance, because we've just recently closed on our first home in Pennsylvannia {East Stroudsburg}.But now since we've been back and forth "visiting" our home until we finally move in,we discaovered that someone broke into our home about 4 weeks ago and has spray painted our home with swastikas and curse words everywhere. We are still pretty blown away by all of that.especially since we are one of the only other minority families in the area. The children were really upset. So hopefully our money for repairs will help out and we'll finally be in our own place ,instead of "putting our name on the orange juice" at my mom's house. That's another reason for this site too because with this incident,it inspired me to write.I appreciate the response.Thank you!

I would not be afraid she might grow dependent on falling asleep in your bed. My little girl did that and she did fine in her bed when it was time.

Jen,
Well I am so sorry to hear about the vandalism. Even more so I am so sorry that the kids know about it. You know it was some stupid mean teenagers. I know how violated I felt when my car got broken into. I live in a very nice area and there has been an increase in home burglaries this summer. I don’t know what I would do if we were broken into. Was the vandalism at the new house or at the old house where you use to live? If it’s at the new house I guess be thankful you didn’t move in yet. I do have a suggestion, my moms neighbor bakes little loafs of bread and takes them around to all the neighbors on her block each Christmas (between Thanksgiving & Christmas) and I think Easter, I know you are the new neighbor on the block but it would be a very nice gesture to get to know your neighbors. Just a suggestion. A great website to get recipes off of is Epicurious, they have reviews that you can read to see if other people like the recipes, see link: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/find/advanced/
One of the best recipes I’ve made was PASTA WITH KALAMATA OLIVES AND ROASTED CHERRY TOMATO SAUCE. Just keep in mind the Kalamata Olives taste like green olives and the capers have a little bite to them. It so decadent if tastes like you slaved in the kitchen (when you haven’t) and it tastes very gourmet. Just make sure the tomatoes are very sweet, I used grape tomatoes and it was in the summertime when they are fresh. I have seen some reviews done in the wintertime and people don’t like the recipe. I think it’s because tomatoes are not in season and the sweetest. My mom has suggested caned for the winter time, I might try that this winter. Here is a link to that recipe. http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/106310
I never did do the bills yesterday; I hope I will do them today,
Take care,
Mo

I apprieciate it.I really believe you're on to something there, with the idea of baking for the nieghbors and introducing ourselves.I think that's a great idea!.And yes,it was the new house that was vandalized.Thank God we were not there that day or night when it all happened, though. And don't feel bad,I have'nt paid any bills myself either.lol
